WHDH simulcasting on 2 channels because of signal difficulties after digital transition

Associated Press - June 16, 2009 6:14 PM ET

BOSTON (AP) - WHDH-TV in Boston is simulcasting on channels 7 and 42 because it is experiencing signal difficulties following Friday's digital transition.

WHDH-TV said Tuesday it is working with the Federal Communications Commission to fix the problem, which occurred because the power level assigned to the station by the FCC isn't sufficient to maintain the signal strength it had before the conversion.

WHDH is petitioning the FCC to allow it to increase its power and improve signal strength.
