Authorities have recovered the body of a missing Navy sailor who disappeared Sunday in the Hudson River in the Town of Luzerne, about 55 miles north of Albany.

The Warren County Sheriff's Department confirms a fisherman discovered the body of 20-year-old Jesse Lyon, of Soda Springs, Idaho, about a mile from where he went under.

Police say Lyon and eight other Navy members went in the River Sunday afternoon and tried to swim across it to the Lake Luzerne side.

Lyon was assigned to Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in West Milton.

An autopsy has been scheduled.
