Berkshire Medical Center to cut more jobs Tuesday

Posted:

PITTSFIELD, MA. -- Berkshire Medical Center and Berkshire Health Systems will announce another round of job cuts Tuesday.

The reduction in staff will affect 65 full time employees, both union and non-union positions.

This comes as 65 positions were cut in June.

The latest round of job cuts will take effect in October, with employees notified by mid-September.

Hospital officials blame the overall economy and do not expect the job cuts to impact its care for patients.
