Warren County man killed serving in Afghanistan

CHESTERTOWN -- Jeremiah Monroe, 32, of Chestertown was killed in action while serving in Afghanistan. NEWS10's Eric Egan spoke to Monroe's family by phone Friday, who learned of the news late Thursday night.

Serving in the Army, Monroe had been in Afghanistan since July. Before that he had been stationed at Fort Drum.

Monroe leaves behind a daughter as well as an extensive, extended family.  At this time the cause of his death has not been released.
