CANAJOHARIE, N.Y. -- Money from the state is a real sweet deal for one local candy maker.
Richardson Brands Company in Canajoharie announced Tuesday they have received $1.7 million in grant money from New York.
The company tells NEWS10 the money will help them retain its current staff and continue deals to buy two other candy companies. That will help bring in 70 jobs in the next two years.
