Five pounds of pot and rifles seized from St. Johnsville home

ST. JOHNSVILLE -- Five pounds of marijuana and five rifles - that's what police was found inside a Montgomery County home.

When deputies searched the St. Johnsville home, they found 40-year-old Dan Ponte was illegally growing pot.

They also found 5.1 pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and the rifles.

Ponte has been charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the second degree, a Class D felony, and sent to the Montgomery County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
