The polls are open for Election Day 2009.

Many races across the Capitol Region are getting a lot of attention today.

One of the biggest is for Colonie Town Supervisor, between incumbent Paula Mahan (D) and challenger Mike Hoblock (R).

There are also some important mayoral races today.

Some of the cities with closely watched races include Albany, Gloversville, North Adams, Pittsfield, and Rensselaer.

As for the polls, they are open and they will stay open until 9:00pm in New York.

In Massachusetts, they vary depending on where you live. Polls in Pittsfield will stay open until 8:00pm tonight. In North Adams, they're open until 7:00pm.
