ALBANY, N.Y. -- Day seven of the Joe Bruno corruption trial included some harsh words for the lawyers from the judge himself.  Judge Gary Sharpe told both sides that the trial has lost its way and scolded them for losing focus on such a complex case.

With the jury out of the room Shape said, "the issue is whether he disclosed his outside business interests to the people of New York and to his fellow lawmakers."

Outside court today Bruno said that every one of his statements are according to the laws of New York State.

The warning came after Sam Fresina, the head of the Laborers Union in Albany, testified that he playing golf with Bruno when Bruno told him he was doing some work for Wright Investors Services, which paid Bruno $1.3 million over a number of years.

The union place nearly $37 million with the company, but only after its own investment advisor gave the deal his blessing.

When asked if he thought Bruno was putting pressure on labor unions to invest with Wright, Fresina said, "no, not at all, not at all.  Wright was a great firm, did a great job for us and still does."

Fresina says Bruno never hid being employed by Wright.
