New York's deer hunting season is only a couple days old, and already there is a fatal accident to report.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says 76-year-old Donald Frye of Caroga Lake was shot while hunting deer in the Town of Minden. Authorities say several members of his family were with him at the time. Frye was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
It is not clear who shot him. Police say they are still investigating the shooting, but are looking at it as an accident, right now.
