Renss. County Clerk Merola Dropping Lawsuit Against Spitzer

Posted:

Rensselaer County Clerk Frank Merola says that he is dropping his lawsuit against Governor Eliot Spitzer.

The suit fought Spitzer's now-defunct plan to give driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.  Merola says now that the governor dropped the plan, the lawsuit is moot.

Merola says the Attorney General has also assured him the plan will not go through.
