Steve Ammerman was named co-anchor of NEWS10 @ 5pm, 530pm, 6pm & 11pm in February of 2007. Steve first joined the NEWS10 team in July of 1997.

Before becoming an evening anchor, Steve anchored NEWS10 in the Morning, NEWS10 @ Noon, and NEWS10 on the Weekend. He also served as a general assignment reporter. Steve's reporting has taken him across the Capital Region and throughout the Northeast, including to New York City to cover the tragic events of 9/11, and to Washington, D.C. following the arrests of two alleged terrorist suspects in Albany. Steve has also reported extensively on politics at the Capitol in Albany.

Steve originally hails from the Midwest. Growing up in Arkansas City, Kansas, he graduated from the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast News. Steve is also active in the community. He serves on the Board of Directors for the AIDS Council of Northeastern New York, and volunteers his time to HVCC's Marketing Department Advisory Committee.

In his spare time, Steve enjoys traveling with friends, going to the theater, watching movies, and walking his Boston Terrier, Niles!
